We’re seeking an Application Security Tester to join us.

As an Application Security Tester, you will be responsible for identifying and making recommendations for addressing potential security risks in software applications. You will perform comprehensive security assessments, including static and dynamic analysis, to detect and exploit potential security flaws in web, mobile, and desktop applications. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to clearly articulate complex security issues in both written reports and meetings with developers. By collaborating with development teams, you will help implement robust security measures and enhance overall application security to protect against evolving cyber threats.

What you'll do:

• Conduct thorough manual penetration testing of web applications to identify security vulnerabilities
• Conduct API security testing and ensure compliance with best practices
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated security test scripts
• Perform security assessments, including vulnerability scanning and risk analysis
• Collaborate with developers to identify security weaknesses and provide recommendations for improvement
• Participate in security code reviews and threat modeling sessions
• Report and document findings, detailing the severity, potential impact, and remediation steps
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies
• Assist in identifying and implementing security code training programs for developers

What you'll bring to Zotec:

• Experience performing blackbox, greybox, and whitebox security assessments of applications
• Strong understanding of common web vulnerabilities and their mitigation strategies
• Experience with automated security testing tools
• Ability to write and maintain scripts for automated security testing
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and standards.
• Knowledge of web technologies and protocols
• Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Experience in API security testing, including RESTful and SOAP services
• Knowledge of API security best practices and standards
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with developers and other stakeholders
• Ability to explain complex security issues in a clear and concise manner
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
