About the Role : DuPont Electronics & Industry offers an exciting and challenging opportunity within our Advanced Circuits and Packaging business for an experienced Application Scientist located in Cheonan, Korea.

Join our advanced packaging metallization team drive application development and engage strategically with key customers for electroplating products in the semiconductor industry. Key areas include lead free solder, copper pillar, RDL, and TSV applications.

Responsibilities:

• Direct, hands on experience with metal plating chemistries, and plating process technologies relevant to advanced packaging (e.g., solder bumping, RDL, TSV, Damascene.).

• Collaborate effectively with the Application team and other R&D teams in Korea.

• Develop and execute DOEs for plating and associated processes to support new product development and customer requests, ensuring high quality data generation and statistical design.

• Develop and maintain optimal equipment process flows, ensuring high equipment uptime.

• Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to support data generation for New Product Development and customer demos. Foster strong technical relationships with customers and key collaborators such as plating tool vendors. Travel as required for customer support. Work closely with Sales and Marketing to support data generation for NPD and customer demos. Develop strong technical interactions with customers and key collaborators such as plating tool vendors. Must be able to travel as required for customer support.

• Promote coordination and cooperation between Asia Pacific and North America Application and New Product Development teams.

• Ensure safety at Metallization Application Lab and contribute to safety improvement initiatives.

• Support the development of intellectual property.

Qualifications:

• M.S. or B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline. 

• Over 6 years of experience (B.S) and 3 years of experience (M.S) in semiconductor industry, especially in BEOL interconnects or Advanced packaging technology, with a preference for experience in electroplating process

• Background in inorganic / organic chemistry and polymers is advantageous for effective collaboration with new product development and engineering teams.

• Prior experience with wafer-level electroplating tools & processes is highly preferred.

• Strong communication skills in both Korean and English, verbal and written.

• Proficiency in DOE and statistical design methodologies; Six Sigma training is a plus.
