Application Project Engineer
Seurat Technologies is seeking an Application Project Engineer to work on a revolutionary and proprietary laser powder bed fusion (LPBF)-based additive manufacturing (AM) or 3D printing technology at Seurat's headquarters in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This new Area Printing technology significantly enhances the quality and productivity of the metal additive manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with the business development team and customers to define and develop printing applications, while also translating customer needs to the internal process team. The Application Project Engineer must be able to manage customer qualification programs through all stages of the process.
Responsibilities:
- Work with internal business development team and customers to scope and develop printing applications.
- Work with printing development team to plan printing operations and update schedule.
- Work with post process team to manage and update schedule.
- Manage customer application qualification projects from design through initial production.
- Work with the internal process team to qualify materials and parts that meet customer requirements.
- Understand engineering principles and interpret results that can be conveyed to customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelors in materials or mechanical engineering disciplines.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering and/or manufacturing in related fields.
- Proven project management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work effectively within a cross functional and multidisciplinary team environment.
- Travel up to 15%.
Preferred Competencies:
- Experience in producing components using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) based metal 3D printers is strongly preferred.
- Background in designing additively manufactured parts is strongly preferred.
- Experience in commonly used metal (ferrous and nonferrous) materials or a background in materials science
- Experience in common AM post-processing techniques.
- Understand mechanical design principles and comprehend mechanical part and assembly drawings.
- Experience in configuring and operating sophisticated industrial material processing equipment.
