The Role

Purpose;

The Application Platform Specialist is responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and support of Core application platforms. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and scalability of the platforms that host critical applications used across the organisation.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver stable and well-governed application environments.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Provide Core platforms system and in-depth functional/technical support to both internal and external users.

  • Facilitate prompt incident troubleshooting, resolution, or escalation as appropriate.

  • Escalate and follow up on incidents/requests raised with the Application Vendor and third parties.

  • Participate in production releases, patching activities, and configuration updates.

  • Support system maintenance and environment management activities.

  • Produce system support documentation and knowledge base articles.

  • Contribute to system enhancements, coding, and development work.

  • Provide system improvement recommendations based on customer and user feedback.

  • Drive continuous improvement, promote best practices, build strong business partnerships, and facilitate timely communication.

Qualifications;

  • Degree in IT Engineering or a related discipline preferred but not essential

Experiences;

  • Experience supporting SQL Server, C#, Azure DevOps, and integrations/APIs.

  • C# and SQL development knowledge.

  • Knowledge of the FIS Ambit Asset Finance system is desirable.

  • Experience in Application Support within financial services or similar industries.

  • Experience in handling incidents demanding functional and technical knowledge.

  • Good understanding and hands-on experience on incident handling, problem resolution and change management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in application design and development in Microsoft technologies.
