Our team is here to help our customers tackle the initiatives and challenges on their organizational roadmap, and give clinicians, operational teams, and researchers access to the data they need to take care of their patients and improve health outcomes.

Cardamom is cultivating a multidisciplinary team of exceptional individuals with diverse skills and experiences in healthcare — data, analytics, AI, and EHR application experts. We are also passionate about growing the careers of those who may have little or no experience in these fields when the opportunity arises. Our team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, revenue cycle professionals, and certified application specialists would love for you to join us.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Epic Application Lead – Cadence/Prelude Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a senior-level contributor and co-application lead, supporting the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.

You will operate within a collaborative, team-oriented environment, providing strategic and technical leadership while mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality service delivery to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight as a co-Application Lead for the Access team, supporting a team of approximately 13 analysts across Cadence, Prelude, Referrals, and Real-Time Eligibility (RTE).
  • Support the strategic direction and execution of client engagements involving Epic EHR, ensuring alignment with contract objectives and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate team activities including incident management, service requests, upgrade support, and small-to-medium projects (under 80 hours).
  • Deliver advanced functional and technical support for Epic Cadence and Prelude applications, driving system optimization and improved end-user experience.
  • Lead and contribute to the analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation of Epic system enhancements and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to improve system stability and performance.
  • Oversee and participate in change control processes, ensuring compliant and efficient migration of system builds and updates.
  • Monitor and report on Service Level Agreements (SLAs), proactively identifying risks and recommending improvements.
  • Facilitate effective communication across internal teams and client stakeholders, ensuring clarity of decisions, priorities, and action items.
  • Develop, maintain, and review documentation including system configurations, workflows, knowledge base articles, and training materials.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives, process improvements, and continuous learning efforts within the Epic practice.
Qualifications
  • Epic certification in Cadence, Prelude, Referrals, RTE, or related Access applications (multiple certifications strongly preferred).
  • Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting, implementing, or training within the Epic ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience in a lead or mentorship capacity, with the ability to coordinate team efforts and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of Epic Access workflows, system configuration, and integration points.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work proactively, manage multiple workstreams, and drive tasks to completion.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience serving as an Application Lead or co-lead on Epic projects or support engagements.
  • Experience supporting upgrades, optimization efforts, and operational maintenance in a client-facing environment.
  • Strong documentation and process improvement experience.
Work Environment & Culture
  • Collaborative, team-based environment focused on continuous improvement and client success
  • Opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, and career growth
  • Emphasis on knowledge sharing, innovation, and delivering high-quality outcomes
