Role Summary

Senior Full Stack Java AWS Engineer responsible for designing and delivering cloud-native Tax platform solutions using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, GraphQL Federation, and modern UI technologies. The role focuses on platform modernization, microservices development, technical leadership, and collaboration within Agile/DevOps teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications

Responsibilites

  • Design, build, and deliver scalable, resilient, and high-quality technology solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Lead adoption of modern engineering practices, including:Microservices architecture,API-first design and GraphQL Supergraph (Apollo Federation) architecture
  • Develop and support cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging services such as:AWS Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, Data platforms
  • Implement and maintain federated GraphQL APIs to enable seamless integration across distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive engineering excellence through: Code quality improvement, Test automation, Observability and monitorin and Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure solutions meet security, reliability, and performance standards, including identity management and API security.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical growth and continuous learning.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Automated deployments
  • Support modernization of the Tax platform using cloud-native architectures, microservices, and modern UI technologies.
  • Enable unified data access across distributed applications through Apollo Federation/GraphQL Supergraph implementations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in software development and system integration.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
  • Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs
  • Hands-on experience with GraphQL and Apollo Federation (Supergraph)
  • Deep knowledge of AWS Cloud (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, IAM, CloudFormation)
  • Front-end expertise with Angular, React, TypeScript, and Node.js
  • Experience with TDD/BDD testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jasmine, and Cucumber
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools including GitHub, Bitbucket, Maven, Artifactory, and Jira
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, Honeycomb, and OpenTelemetry
  • Understanding of security, authentication (Okta), API security, and identity management
  • Proven experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and mentoring engineers
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Preferred: Experience with GenAI tools, SRE practices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
