Job Summary
Serves clients by identifying their needs and providing technical advice of products. Works as part of a team that includes other engineers, machinists, designers, and the main factory’s production floor. The sales engineer provides quotes and custom gaging solutions to serve numerous industries. Oversees each job starting from initial customer contact and moving through design, purchase order receipt, bill of materials, manufacturing, inspection, and packing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies current and future customer requirements by providing quotes and custom gaging solutions.
- Provides products, services, or equipment technical and engineering information.
- Travels to customer sites and supplier locations.
- Reviews prints and has a basic knowledge of GD&T.
- Creates Bill of materials, shop routings and inspection processes.
- Constantly troubleshoots issues in all stages of the projects.
- Collaborates with purchasing and production control to ensure manufactured and purchased goods remain on schedule.
- Provides reports via Smartsheet and MS office on current projects and timelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Customer service skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- MS office, Smartsheet, and CAD
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing and processes
- Basic print reading and GD&T. Manual machining is a plus.
