We are looking for an individual with strong knowledge on power electronics, especially Multiphase VR Controller, Smart Power Stage, Power Module & IVR applications. This individual is a strong team player and can perform well within a constant interrupt-driven, customer-demanding environment where multi-tasking and time management skills are critical. You will be responsible for local application support of our multiphase controllers and smart power stages for processor power.
The Multiphase Vcore Application Engineer is an outstanding opportunity to allow technically minded engineers to broaden their system engineering skills and application knowledge, while partnering closely with our local sales organization. As part of the multiphase power team, this engineer will be part of a fast-growing team that is working on products to support the growing power needs of the largest server and communications processors!
Responsibilities include:
- Answer customer questions and support design-in activities for released products
- Debug customer problems, including some on-site support as needed
- Generate collateral, such as schematic checklists and layout best practices, to help our customers design with our products
- Schematic and Layout reviews of customer designs
- Host trainings on latest products for our customers and sales teams
- Build customer relationships by providing great support
- Collaborate with the multiphase power team to build technical knowledge on key products and stay up to date on latest progress of new device development
- Provide feedback on our online E2E forum and email questions
Minimum requirements:
- M.S. degree or above in in Electrical/Electronic Engineering related field
- 5+ years of experience in power electronics
- Hands on expertise in one or more of the following applications: Multiphase VR Controller, Smart Power Stage, Power Module or IVR applications
- Hands on technical experience with one or more of the following platforms in consumer or data center applications, including NVIDIA, Intel, AMD or ASIC platforms
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong technical expertise of Multiphase Vcore solution, TLVR & Zero-bias TLVR topologies and Coupled Inductors
- Familiar with the protocols including NVIDIA-PWMVID, Intel-SVID, AMD-SVI3, PMBus and AVSBus
- Experience with load emulation tools including Intel Gen 5 VRTT & AMD SDLE Tool
- Experience with validation frameworks including NVIDIA Test Plan, Intel VRTS Validation, AMD SDLE Test and ASIC Test Plan
- Proficiency in simulation & software tools including SIMPLIS, Power SI, Flotherm, OrCAD, Allegro, Mathcad and FPGA tools
- Solid hardware debugging skills and experience in applications support of analog products
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers to solve their complete analog system requirements utilizing TI components
- Strong communication skills and the ability to proactively drive customer activity
- Strong presentation skills, with ability to effectively relate materials to customers
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
