Basic Purpose
The position involves providing Electronics/Motion Control and Power Transmission application expertise to SEW-EURODRIVE personnel and customers for the purpose of maintaining established sales activity and increasing new sales of SEW-EURODRIVE products within the Corporate guidelines which includes travel to Customer sites. Customers are to be handled with a view toward growth and long-term relationships while maintaining a consistent and businesslike attitude.
Experience and Educational Requirements
Must have a BSEE or equivalent plus experience with industrial motion control products.
Pay Range : $70,000 - $100,000/year
Location
Located near or willing to relocate to the Louisville, KY area to work out of our Louisville office.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to organize workload for timely accomplishment of work.
- Ability to understand nomenclature and number assignments of the SEW-EURODRIVE products.
- Must have experience with AC variable frequency controllers and servo motor controllers.
- Must have strong initiative in order to solve problems which fall outside of documented processes. This requires the ability to collect and interpret information into solutions that are in the best interest of the company.
- Knowledge of various types of PLC’s and ability to troubleshoot and modify programs.
- Experience with industrial fieldbuses (DeviceNet, Profibus) preferred.
- Ability to read control wiring diagrams.
Actual Tasks:
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting/repair of SEW-EURODRIVE electronic and electro/mechanical products to customers.
- Assist SEW-EURODRIVE District Sales Managers and customers with application expertise including both mechanical and electrical design engineering.
- Assist inside sales with: requests for quotes and orders for nonstandard product assemblies/modifications to ensure product is technically acceptable and has a low risk of failure, with ratings and technical data on nonstandard products, and training on new products and/or product changes.
- Assure technical compliance by reviewing drive specifications and job requirements as supplied by customers.
- Generate sketches for parts fabrication/modifications.
- Frequently travel on Company business to any required destination domestically as well as overseas. Frequently stay overnight for extended periods of time, obtain lodging, and occasionally conduct business in the evenings, weekends, and holidays and outside of normal business hours.

A 10% shift premium is paid for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.
