Job Description

General overview

This position will focus on helping our customers and partners realize the digitalization and automation of the oil field and remain competitive as we jointly participate in the 4th Industrial Revolution. Primary focus will be ESP VFDs and associated equipment. Other focus areas are ESP VFDs and associated equipment and our open oil and gas digitalization platform Avalon and its peripherals.

The position provides pre-sale application engineering support that helps Sensia technically satisfy customers/prospects and channels. Indirectly, the position helps Sensia achieve its annual operating financial goals, supports Sensia’s business objectives and helps realize technical customer satisfaction. This position works across development and product management and other departments as required to ensure technical diligence and confirms that Sensia’s pre-sale support is accurate, meets expected customer service levels and is supportive of our stated product goals and strategy.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Assist customers with the application of our products into their equipment and processes. Including, performing site surveys at customer’s site.

  • Support Sales Team and Business Partners with application assessment and technical discussions.

  • Assist sales during customer visits (technical support) and shows (presenting papers)

  • Help answer technical questions about the installation, programming, setup and startup of stated Sensia products.

  • Assist in Development of training collateral for Sales Team and Partner Network, such as demo kits, programming labs, and case studies.

  • Train sales, manufacturing, proposals, and service.

  • Collect feedback from partners and customers about technical requirements needed to satisfy the installation and performance of Sensia products and act as the bridge between the customer and development engineering team.

  • Act as technical liaison and first line of support between Product Line managers, Technolgy and Sales Team with product lines of knowledge.

  • Act as the eyes and ears of Sensia related to technical feedback on identified products.

  • Forge a relationship of trust and respect with Product Management, Development and Business Leadership to enable swift changes related to product technical specifications that will ease the application of identified products. Execution of a few select Growth Initiatives (position will take on 2-3).

  • Provide internal and channel application training related to identified products.

  • Lead MSTeams calls with channels and customers for the purpose of gaining competence, confidence and commitment to the product lines

  • Assist with the Coordination and the implementation of an application engineering database for stated products to enable speed of response for repeat technical questions and challenges.

  • Work with Sales Operations to Enable a customer response system that establishes a case number and ensure tenacity towards closing open technical issues (application engineering ticketing system).

  • Work closely with the post-sales support team. If needed you can act as a support specialist and assist service and support during customer visits.

  • Monitor and audit application engineering process performance.

  • Execution of process improvements by creating tools, processes, and procedures.

  • Travel as necessary to support Sales Team and Partner Network.

  • Interface with Marketing to build application notes and sales collateral for promotion of Sensia Solutions.

  • Assist technology:

    • by reviewing technical documentation like manuals and technical notes

    • by testing the product themselves

    • during beta phase testing

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Technical expertise within oil & gas business, specifically within Artificial Lift

Experience with Electric Submersible Pump (ESP)

Technical expertise with Variable Speed Drives

Feeling for technical commercial issues

MSOffice suite of products
