Your Mission:
As an Application Engineer IV, you will design, develop, and maintain software tools and subsystems to support critical mission needs. You will be responsible for creating and enhancing applications, integrating with various systems, and ensuring data flows efficiently and securely. Working on a highly visible project, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that directly impact thousands of users. Your expertise in software development, system engineering, and automation will be essential in delivering innovative and reliable technology solutions.
This role offers a flexible schedule within core hours (10 AM – 2 PM) and the potential for remote work after 90 days. You will be part of a team working on a highly visible project, directly impacting mission success and technological advancements.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Are:
- Skilled in software development and system engineering
- Experienced in technical writing and documentation
- Proficient in tools such as Confluence and JIRA
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment with two-week sprints
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and leadership
- Adaptable to a flexible work schedule while maintaining consistency
A Day in the Life Of:
- Developing and enhancing software applications using TypeScript, Angular, Python, Django, Flask, and other technologies
- Designing and implementing data pipelines using NiFi, PySpark, and PressureWave
- Collaborating with UI/UX teams to create intuitive single-page applications
- Maintaining and improving backend API services
- Managing database solutions with MariaDB and MongoDB
- Automating workflows with Ansible, Kubernetes, and Docker
- Troubleshooting production issues and optimizing system performance
- Participating in Agile sprint planning and daily stand-ups
Must Haves:
- TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Twelve (12) years minimum experience and a High School Diploma/GED. Ten (10) years minimum experience and an Associate's Degree. Eight (8) years minimum experience and a Bachelor's Degree. Six (6) years minimum experience and a Master's Degree. Four (4) years minimum experience and a Doctorate's Degree.
- Strong software development experience in TypeScript, Python, or similar languages
- Proficiency with Angular, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Linux, RedHat)
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with data management tools like NiFi and PySpark
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Nice to Have:
- Experience with UI/UX design tools such as Balsamiq
- Background in patch management and IAVA tracking
- Hands-on experience with GitLab Pipelines
- Prior experience in a government contracting environment
- Understanding of enterprise IT security tools and best practices
