Position Summary

• We are looking for a highly motivated Full Stack Application Engineer with strong Java development experience and frontend expertise in Angular. The ideal candidate will be a proactive engineer who enjoys working across the technology stack, collaborating closely with product managers, technical leads, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality solutions.

• This role offers an opportunity to contribute to business-critical platforms that directly support Vanguard's growth objectives across Europe and the UK while working within a modern cloud-based technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications.

• Build and enhance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

• Develop and support modern web applications using Angular.

• Design and consume RESTful APIs and web services.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, and Engineers to deliver business solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.

• Support cloud-native application development and deployment within AWS.

• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.

• Contribute to platform modernization, third-party integrations, and continuous improvements.

• Take ownership of assigned work items and proactively drive delivery.

• Operate effectively in an Agile environment using a pull-based work model.

Required Qualifications and Tech Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and back-end architecture.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.

• Experience

• Typically, 7 to 8 years of relevant software engineering experience preferred.

• Candidates with strong hands-on technical expertise and relevant project experience will also be considered.

• Strong experience in Core Java development.

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.

• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and web services.

• Good development experience in Angular.

• Experience working within AWS cloud environments.

• Understanding of modern software engineering practices and design principles.

• Experience working with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.

• AWS Exposure: Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, Terraform

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

• Experience working within product-based organizations.

• Exposure to Financial Services or Investment Management domains.

• Familiarity with secure digital platforms and customer-facing applications.

• Experience working across both frontend and backend development.
