Truss is seeking a contract software engineer to support one of our federal government clients.
We're looking for a mid-level software engineer comfortable building application interfaces and the backend services that power them.
The ideal candidate has worked within agile development teams, has supported federal government clients and/or worked as a consultant. They should bring an adaptive, empathetic, and collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
As a fully remote team, applicants should be comfortable staying connected through tools like Slack, Jira, and Zoom, participating in regular meetings with the client team, and giving thoughtful, constructive feedback in code reviews.
Experience with modern DevOps practices, frameworks like React, or technologies such as GraphQL, Postgres, and Node.js is a plus.
This engineer will join a committed team working within fast-paced environment on a high-profile project that demands continuous delivery. The work is meaningful, and the team is exceptional; however, it is also challenging, and dedication is expected from all members.
This role is expected to work 35 hours per week including the core hours of 10:00am - 4:00pm ET
Must be able to travel to Baltimore, MD twice per calendar year.
Hourly rate is $80 - $88 dependent on experience.
Contract lasts through April 2027 with potential extension.
