AWT consolidates BlackRock’s varying products, including Advisor Center, Aladdin Risk for Wealth and SMA Business with marketing and sales teams -- with the goal of improving the user experience of its technology products and improving relationships with the financial advisors who use it. Position Description The Associate will join the development team in Mumbai. The Associate will be an integral part of the team and take responsibility for working on the Product roadmap for the Business and contribute to the milestones set for the team. This position requires solid hands-on programming, creative problem solving, and troubleshooting skills, and an enthusiasm for learning. This role also offers the opportunity to partner with proficient software developers to continue to build both new multi-tier enterprise systems and enhance existing ones. Responsibilities Designing, coding, testing, and supporting reliable, robust software applications and Backend services with high-quality standards and best industry practices. Be a Subject matter expert for the team and provide technical solutions to the Business requirements. Role will balance strong engineering output with strong organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to quickly learn and start development using a new language or framework as per the technology stack to be used in a project. Participating actively in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation. Collaborating with Product management on the right units of work to include in each development sprint. Performing code reviews and providing timely feedback to other engineers. Work in a Global team environment spreading across several time zones. Desired Skills/Compentencies Mandatory A strong understanding of React's core principles and function-based architecture. Experience with modern JavaScript (ES6+) and Typescript. Experience with state management libraries like Redux, Recoil or Jotai. Experience in HTML, CSS/SCSS, JQuery etc. Experience in writing tests (unit, integration, etc.) with Jest, Cypress or Playwright. Proficiency in using Git for version control. Nice to have Experience with Git for version control. Experience with CI/CD platforms like Azure DevOps. Understanding typical Java-based frameworks such as Spring MVC, Spring Boot etc. Experience in developing microservices architecture and/or writing Restful APIs. Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Some experience with software containerization platforms like Open Container Initiative (OCI) container packaging and runtime/Cloud-Native distributed containerized microservice orchestration. Proficiency building and passionate about creating great products that solve big problems. Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and time management abilities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to self-study and learn new concepts with minimal mentorship, should be self-driven. Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience. 4-6 years of professional software development experience. Strong object-oriented programming knowledge along with good understanding of algorithms, data structures and design patterns. Ability to work in a global team-environment. Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
