How you succeed

This role is required to provide leadership and management of Payment team, who is supporting the critical applications pertaining to the payment domains, such as Interbank transactions via SWIFT Messages, Inward /outward remittance, high-value domestic payment, Instant Fund Transfer via FAST/PayNow, etc. This role is expected to manage and oversee the day-to-day IT operations matters, closely coordinate and work across/with the various IT departments and business stakeholders to ensure the team performance in delivering the applications with agreed SLA.


What you do


  • Strong technical skillset in shell scripting, Java, PostgreSQL, SQL scripting, Kafka, Kubernetes/Docker, OpenShift, IBM MQ, Redis, Grafana, and Kibana. 
  • Solid understanding of container platforms, DevOps methodologies, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Possess good knowledge on 3 tier/MS -architecture application and able to: Provide L2 support – Be able to understand the application architecture, and interfaces to upstream/downstream.
  • Support day-to-day IT operations – production issue resolution.
  • Analyze issue raised by users or reported by monitoring system.
  • Perform impact analysis and suggest workaround solution.
  • Follow-up and follow-thru with vendor on the resolution till issue permanently fixed.
  • Understand the job dependencies and recover the job if there is any job failure. Be able to define and implement job automation.
  • Participate/conduct regular DR simulation/live DR exercise to ensure the system can be recovered within defined RTO.
  • Ability to specify the monitoring requirement and observing system abnormality ahead of time to prevent issues from happening.
  • Conduct application capacity planning and perform performance tuning.
  • Perform regular application review according to the technology security standard (TSSAC) and follow up with necessary action plan to close the non-compliance item.
  • Understand and identify solution for security vulnerability identified by VA/APT and follow up with fix for issue closure.
  • Good interpersonal skills and capable to communicate with different work groups within internal IT, BU/Operations and external vendors.

Who you are


  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in software development, preferably in a banking or financial services environment
  • Strong technical skillset in shell scripting, Java, PostgreSQL, SQL scripting, Kafka, Kubernetes/Docker, OpenShift, IBM MQ, Redis, Grafana, and Kibana. 
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
  • Solid understanding of container platforms, DevOps methodologies, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
