Application Analyst and Developer

The Opportunity
As Application Analyst and Developer, you will play a crucial role in automating and managing the build and release process for our software products. You will work in a collaborative Release and Management environment where innovation, reliability, and efficiency are key. This role supports MassMutual Ascend’s commitment to delivering secure and stable financial software solutions to our customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Automate software builds, testing, and packaging.
• Manage build servers, configure build scripts, and integrate with version control systems (Azure Git).
• Plan, execute, and monitor software releases to ensure smooth, reliable, and on-time delivery.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Serve as the administrator for Azure DevOps by managing permissions, pipelines, repositories, and configurations.
• Administer and optimize Nexus for artifact storage and integration.
• Generate coverage reports and collaborate with development teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Upgrade and maintain Remote Environment Management (REM) tools.
• Write and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, Shell, or Groovy to automate DevOps tasks.
• Identify and resolve build, release, and deployment issues proactively.
• Document build and release processes comprehensively.
• Monitor metrics and generate reports to drive improvement in DevOps practices.
• Advocate for DevOps best practices and implement process improvements.
• Ensure secure practices across CI/CD pipelines and release operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance using Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in Azure Git or similar version control systems.
• Hands-on experience in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Shell, Groovy).
• Experience administering artifact repositories like Nexus.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Ideal Qualifications

• Cloud experience (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• ITIL certification or knowledge of ITIL frameworks.
