Business Unit Overview:
The mission of Finance is to be trusted business partners and an industry thought leader supporting optimization of stakeholder value and act as a fiduciary by ensuring high quality financial reporting and rigorous risk oversight and controls.
The Financial & Prudential Reporting (FPR) team within APAC Controllers is responsible for corporate accounting, statutory and regulatory reporting, financial analysis, and transaction processing across multiple legal entities in the Asia-Pacific region. The APAC FPR function operates through a hub model with a significant India-based team in Gurgaon.
Job Purpose:
The Associate, Financial & Prudential Reporting (FPR) Controller will be based in the Gurgaon office and will support FPR activities for APAC legal entities. Key responsibilities include statutory and regulatory reporting, corporate accounting, financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany processes.
The individual will be co-located with the broader India-based FPR hub team, working in a collaborative environment alongside colleagues covering multiple APAC jurisdictions. This role requires strong cross-border collaboration with onshore teams and internal stakeholders across functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive, self-driven attitude with excellent communication skills and a genuine respect for colleagues across diverse cultures and geographies
Key Responsibilities:
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for APAC entities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications in Oracle or equivalent ERP systems.
Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and regulatory filings in accordance with IFRS or local GAAP, ensuring the integrity of financial data and enabling management to make decisions based on monthly financial reports.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial data, including intercompany transaction processing, transfer pricing analysis, and reconciliation of intercompany balances.
Coordinate with external and internal auditors by preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation, responding to audit inquiries in a timely manner and preparing audited financial statements for approval.
Collaborate proactively with onshore controllers and cross-functional partners across APAC, as well as India-based FPR colleagues, to ensure seamless information flow, knowledge-sharing, and issue resolution.
Identify and implement opportunities for operational excellence — including process automation, workflow optimization, and control enhancements — to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
Leverage data analysis skills and AI agent tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to streamline reporting processes, enhance data quality, and deliver insights.

Skills and Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent professional qualification (or actively pursuing).
3–5 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, financial reporting, or controllership, preferably within asset management, financial services, or a Big 4 audit firm.
Solid understanding of IFRS, with familiarity (or willingness to learn) local GAAP frameworks across APAC jurisdictions.
Proactive and independent, takes ownership of tasks, anticipates challenges, and drives issues to resolution without waiting for direction.
Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage actively and effectively across teams, functions, and geographies—both verbally and in writing.
A genuine respect for others and an inclusive mindset: listens attentively, values diverse perspectives, and treats colleagues with empathy and consideration.
Demonstrated interest or experience in data analysis and emerging AI agent tools to improve financial processes and reporting.
Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to precision, accuracy, and consistency in financial data.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
