Job Summary:

Cultivate and grow a portfolio pipeline of mid-level donors to increase annual giving revenue and identify, qualify, and transition prospective major gift donors in support Lancaster Bible College’s mission. 

This role is responsible for achieving defined fundraising, retention, and donor engagement goals through strategic relationship management.


Physical Requirements: 

  • Willingness to travel for donor visits
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • Experience in fundraising, customer relationship management, or nonprofit work preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship management experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage a mid-level donor portfolio effectively.
  • Strong relational engagement skills (phone, email, virtual, and in-person).
  • Ability to collaborate across Advancement team members.
  • Ability to identify and qualify prospects for major giving.
  • Proficiency in CRM/database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge).
  • Familiarity with donor segmentation and wealth screening tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze giving trends and donor behavior.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Donor Portfolio Management

  • Manage a mid-level portfolio of 300–500 donors, developing tailored engagement strategies for each segment.
  • Execute 75+ visits annually with wealth-screened and qualified prospects.
  • Build consistent, meaningful relationships with donors through phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person visits.
  • Document all interactions and engagement strategies in the CRM system.
  • Achieve annual portfolio revenue, retention, and upgrade goals as defined by Advancement leadership

Donor Cultivation & Annual Giving Growth

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase annual fund participation and giving levels.
  • Engage donors through consistent stewardship, communication, and personalized outreach.
  • Assist in creating and executing campaigns that move donors toward greater investment in the College.
  • Track and report progress toward participation, retention, and revenue goals

Sustainer (Monthly Giving) Program

  • Oversee and grow the Sustainer Program (monthly donors).
  • Work collaboratively with team members to align alumni engagement and giving strategies.
  • Develop initiatives to increase participation, retention, and upgrade levels within the program.

Giving Societies Management

  • Manage all aspects of Giving Societies, including qualification, stewardship, recognition, and communication.
  • Ensure donors receive appropriate acknowledgment and engagement based on giving levels.
  • Develop strategies to move donors into higher levels of giving society participation.

Major Donor Pipeline Development

  • Identify and qualify potential major gift prospects within the annual giving portfolio.
  • Work closely with the VP of Advancement and Major Gifts Officers to transition qualified prospects into major gift portfolios (option to retain those relationships if beneficial to LBC).
  • Participate in moves management and maintain clear documentation of donor progression.
  • Assist in developing strategies to elevate donors from annual giving to major giving.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with Advancement leadership, MGOs, and support staff.
  • Participate in team strategy meetings, campaign planning, and donor segmentation efforts.
  • Support overall department goals and initiatives.

Expectations

  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet performance metrics.
  • Willingness to travel locally for donor visits – approximately 25-40% depending on portfolio.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for events or donor engagement (estimated 1-2 times per month but depends on when a donor can meet).
