CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary, and community.Our editorial team is looking for writers to update existing articles by utilizing a deep knowledge of SEO and strategic content value to refine our lists, features, and resources to the highest possible standards.
CBR operates at a rapid pace and is seeking writers who can produce high-quality updates under time constraints. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and internal development opportunities within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Update previously published articles in CBR’s house style (following the requisite training).
- This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, editing, and image sourcing
- Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
- Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team
- Work closely with CBR's leads to ensure the continued growth of the publication along with helping every article reach its full potential
Requirements:
- A passion for the content and a drive to grow within the industry
- Previous writing experience (Editing experience is a plus)
- A deep understanding of SEO that extends to headlines and text
- Broad working knowledge of Anime, including popular series like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach, Avatar/Korra, Studio Ghibli, Sailor Moon, Isekai, Pokémon, Solo Leveling, and Jujutsu Kaisen
- The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims
- A sharp eye for grammatical details
- Excellent command of the English language
- Ability to update high-quality articles with swift turn-around times
- Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment
- Should possess a general understanding of media pop culture and have strong research skills
