About the role
We are seeking an Animation editor with compositing experience to support the production of a family-oriented live experience. This role focuses on producing a polished, musically timed animated live show that combines clarity, character charm, and readability. You will work in an enhanced cutout style with selective 2.5D depth, ensuring high energy, engaging visuals, and clear typographic rhythm.
This is a contract position designed for a creative professional who thrives in fast-paced environments with short approval paths and tight delivery schedules.
Contract Duration: 4 weeks
Deliverables: UHD, ProRez 422 HQ, working files, webtools and plugins
Location: In Studio (Mt Dora, FL)
What you'll do
- Edit an 8-10 minute animated live show with selective 2.5D depth.
- Apply typography with a clear visual rhythm to ensure instructions remain readable and engaging.
- Integrate brand fonts (provided by the client or approved substitutes) into animated motion graphics.
- Work with reference audio during production and re-embed final audio tracks at handoff.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director and Production team to ensure integration-ready deliverables and alignment with project requirements.
- Make revisions to edits upon request
- Manage time and materials effectively
- Flexibility to support onsite needs if the contract is extended.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Video Editor.
- Strong portfolio showcasing clarity-driven, family-friendly, high energy, musically timed, engaging visuals and animated typography.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro or comparable editing suite.
- Experience in delivering broadcast or live-event-ready content.
- Experience producing for large screens, emphasizing readability of on-screen content.
- Familiarity with preparing masked variants and integration-ready assets.
- Efficient time management skills to maintain schedule adherence.
Must have
- A portfolio/ demo reel of previous work
- Exceptional file management and project management organization to simplify handoffs and source submissions.
- Licenses and equipment to deliver the expected output eg. Licenses to perform the work, and a computer cable of doing the work required.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with 2.5D animation workflows.
- Understanding of live production pipelines and multi-format delivery.
- Prior collaboration with entertainment brands or large-scale productions.
