Your role would be to develop Android applications using the Android SDK and Kotlin, following best practices and using standard development tools.
We are currently looking for a senior software engineer to join us on the following project:
Garmin Alpha: is our hunting and outdoor companion app that connects handhelds and LTE dog collars for real‑time tracking, safety, and team coordination in the field. It delivers fast, reliable mapping with rich layers, precise waypoints, and seamless device pairing, so hunters can plan, navigate, and make quick decisions together.
We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute designs for software components within a larger project.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Software Engineers.
- Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
- Estimate the level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes.
- Perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems.
Requirements
- Strong Kotlin and Android SDK knowledge.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose.
- BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar.
- 5 years of experience with Android development.
- Proficiency in English.
