We at New Initiatives team, work and operate like a high-functioning startup within Truecaller, taking new ideas from zero to one. The product ideas need not necessarily coincide with the Truecaller app and may be a completely new app / product that we build from scratch. The team has built apps like Guardians (Personal safety app), Open Doors (Audio social network), ZipZip (AI customer support agent) and Scamfeed (Anti-Scam community inside Truecaller app) & more.

As an Android Engineer, you will be responsible for enabling and performing highly efficient application development for the Android platform. You will be deeply involved in the whole cycle of product development, from idea generation to delivery.

The impact you will create: 

• Strong knowledge of the Android SDK 
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Fluent in English, in speaking and writing
• Experience in working with Agile methodologies
• Ability to make the right compromises to maximize early value delivery without compromising on quality

It would be great if you also have experience in:

• JavaScript frameworks
• Multi-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native)
• Backend or Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) platforms (Firebase, Supabase)
• Side projects in various tech stacks
• And of course acts according to our values; Get shit done, Be helpful, Be fearless and Never give up
