Job Description
Android Engineer, Fortune Brands Innovations Group, Inc., Deerfield, IL. Contribute to the architecture, design, and development, of new features for the August App. Collaborate with our engineering department to impact the user interface and experience with our August lock. Develop applications using Java and Kotlin. Take ownership of new projects and features and complete projects to the end. Build, test, launch, and maintain android applications. Work with hardware, home automation devices, and/or consumer-focused apps. Must have a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field or foreign equivalent degree and 5 years of experience as Android Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, Mobile Application Engineer, or related position. Must also have experience in: (i) using Kotlin, Java and building, testing, launching and maintaining Android apps; (ii) using Circle CI and other DevOps applications for team to streamline the software development lifecycle; (iii) integrating Bluetooth/BLE and sensor devices to enable seamless communication with external hardware components; (iv) implementing MQTT, RESTful web service-to-app to facilitate real-time data exchange. 100% telecommuting permitted; can live anywhere in the US. Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $149,000 USD - $150,000 USD. An employee’s actual salary within the range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
