👨‍💻 About the Role 


We're excited to announce an opportunity for an Analytics Engineering Lead / Data Systems Lead to be a part of our expanding team in Pakistan! You’ll be leading and overseeing our System Management, Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering at Mous, reporting directly to our Head of Data, Strategy & Marketplaces and managing our ERP Manager. Your role will be pivotal in setting the ambition of our data stack, taking full ownership of our ERP system (Acumatica), Data Warehouse (Amazon RedShift and Google Big Query on Panoply) and the accurate flow of data between platforms (PowerBI, Shopify, Amazon, Freshdesk etc.).

 

Please note that this role will be situated at our office in Lahore (Upper Mall), working on-site from Monday-Thursday, with Friday being an optional WFH day. The normal working hours will be 10am - 7pm PKT.

We’re looking for someone passionate about data being at the heart of a business and keen to take ownership of how it is gathered, stored and used at Mous. We want to upgrade and optimise our tech stack, so need someone not just skilled in using data, but ready to take on enabling and optimizing data flows between connectors and end-user dashboards, ensuring optimal performance of our data systems.


You might be a Senior Analyst from an Analytics or Data Science background and want to get more hands on with the tech stack, or been a Data Engineer looking to branch into a role with more scope into analytics. We want someone with a mix of skills, excited to become our 'Data Architect'.

 

We're on the lookout for an organised, detail-oriented individual who values structure and efficiency in their role. Your background is a blend of Analytics, Engineering and Systems Management, encompassing expertise in Databases, ERPs and Order Management Systems (OMSs), with strong experience in SQL and knowledgeable in how AI will change the way we work.

Not only knowledgeable, you're also a strategic thinker who understands the importance of integrating various systems seamlessly. You have a vision for what good system and data management should look like and you find satisfaction in designing, integrating, and enhancing system processes. 🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • There are a number of areas you'll be responsible for in this role.
  • Systems Integration and Analytics:

  • Identify and set up new initiatives that can improve business processes, adding value through Data Science, automations and LLM.
  • Oversee the integration and management of various systems including PowerBI, Shopify, Amazon, Freshdesk etc.
  • Develop structured process maps, simplifying data interpretation and use.
  • Optimize data flow and integrity between different platforms.
  • Transform data sources into core analytics tables the business can rely on and trust.
  • Database Management:

  • Set up, maintain, and optimise data sources – be able to implement fast solutions whilst always working towards best practices.
  • Conduct and automate regular data accuracy checks.
  • Maintain clear documentation of our schemas and tables.
  • Manage communications with our Data Warehouse providers and integration partners to troubleshoot issues.
  • Inter-Departmental Support and Training:

  • Be the go-to person for data system questions, becoming the leader on the use of AI at Mous.
  • Run regular training sessions to enhance team abilities in system usage and data handling.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to identify and implement process improvements – both simple and complex.
  • ERP Management:

  • Work with our ERP Manager to optimise our ERP system (Acumatica) for everyday operational needs and liaise with our external developers in troubleshooting and customising our system.
  • Lead ERP enhancement & integration projects, focusing on practical improvements and efficiencies.

✔️ How will success be measured?

  • 2-5 years of experience in a data or Information management role, with exposure to eCommerce or tech environments seen as a plus.
  • Experience in SQL: Expertise in query writing, data extraction, optimization and aggregation.
  • Experience in managing data connections: Proficient with ETL, APIs, and Data Engineering.
  • Experience in Excel: Proficient in formulas, tables, and PowerQuery.
  • Effective communicator, able to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Project Management: Able to coordinate across teams and manage data improvement projects.
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written communication.
