As a Senior Analytics Engineer in our central data team, you’ll play a key role in evolving our data modelling and semantic layer. You’ll collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Engineers to make complex data easy to access, trustworthy, and meaningful. You’ll also work closely with other teams to guide best practices in data modeling and help build tools that enable self-serve analytics at scale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Become the leading developer and architect of our dbt project and semantic layer (currently in LookML).
- Help analysts utilise and get value from data modeling and semantic layers, provide help in the identification of common problems across teams, and develop general solutions and standardised approaches.
- Provide the best expertise in the company for selecting the tools and services we use for data transformation, BI and semantic layer.
- Make optimal use of the data infrastructure and contents, both architectural and performance-wise.
- Improve the process of development and quality monitoring of our data modelling layer.
WHO YOU ARE
- SQL mastery is a must
- Proven data modelling experience
- Experience and understanding of different semantic layers
- Software engineering practices (git, CI)
- Ability to design and assemble suitable metrics (product, targeting, etc.)
- Understanding of the principles of modern data warehouses and ways to optimise data queries on a distributed compute environment
- Intermediate knowledge of Python
- Data quality assurance skills
Nice-to-haves:
- Data infrastructure and cloud data storages design knowledge
- Third party data integration experience
- Experience in the mobile applications domain
- Knowledge of marketing attribution and tracking services concepts and related best practices
- Experience with Dataframe API Python libraries such as Pandas, PySpark or SnowPark
- Understanding how different roles in the company use data for their day to day work. For example Analysts, Designers, and Product Owners.

We also have our own stage at our Helsinki office. We also have a double bass, electric and acoustic guitars, a baby grand piano, digital pianos, mixers, microphones, drums, you name it! We have jam sessions after work on Fridays (when it’s safe to do so).

In Helsinki, we have our own recording studio–which you are free to use for your own projects. We love music and encourage everyone to play their favorite songs.
