Analytical specialist role is responsible for conducting studies in support of development and registration of crop protection active ingredients and maintain the manufacturing productions, both internally and externally. This role will partner closely with R&D analytical SMEs, analytical team in manufacturing plants to transfer and implement the methods and troubleshoot the analytical problems. This role will also partner with Quality and External Manufacturing to qualify and release materials.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with Process Analytical Technology team members to efficiently perform experiments and communicate results to stakeholders according to required timelines.
  • Perform analytical studies of various types of materials in support of registration and production of active ingredients.
  • Provide local support to ensure the method transfer and implementation in the pilot plant and manufacturing facilities.
  • Provide analytical support to regional PDI teams, including Midland, Shanghai and Savli process development teams. The activities include but not limited to support the instrument/method troubleshooting to enable the lab work in the regional labs.
  • Ensure that all data are being generated and documented in a manner consistent with best practices, and study protocols. 
  • Process and interpret quality of analytical data. Troubleshoot and implement analytical solutions for experimental challenges as needed to ensure study requirements are met. 
  • Support daily operations of the analytical laboratories by maintaining the instrumentation and lab areas.
  • Actively collaborate with the team to support the development and implementation of automated tools and workflows to drive continuous improvement in analytical workflows and capabilities.        

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.  Degree discipline in Chemistry or a related science is preferred.  

What Skills You Need:

  • Two years relevant work experience with analytical chemistry techniques is preferred.
  • Good lab skills, sample preparation, HPLC and GC analysis. Ability to learn additional skills, including ICP, IC, LC-MS, GC-MS, SFC, etc.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, and customer focused environment preferred. 
  • Demonstrates flexibility to accommodate urgent projects. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively interact with a diverse group of stakeholders and peers.  
  • Demonstration of the value of environmental health and safety.
