Position Overview
As part of StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (SPAR) organization, the Private Wealth Analyst will support core data processing, validation, and operational workflows used across the Firm’s private markets platform. The Analyst will work closely with SPAR Private Wealth team leadership and SPAR Client Service partners to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent private markets data in accordance with established standards and methodologies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process private markets data received from General Partners (GPs), including data entry, reconciliation, and validation of capital account statements, cash flows, financial statements, and portfolio company operating metrics
- Support the accuracy and integrity of StepStone’s private markets data universe, including NAVs, asset-level information, and portfolio company metrics
- Compile accurate and timely data outputs in accordance with established SPAR standards, documentation, and quality controls
- Complete assigned daily, weekly, and monthly operational deliverables supporting StepStone Private Wealth (SPW) and SPAR Client Service objectives
- Monitor assigned workflows to ensure deadlines are met and proactively escalate issues or risks impacting delivery timelines
- Identify data inconsistencies, missing information, or anomalies and coordinate resolution with appropriate internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with SPAR and SPW teams to support recurring operational processes and evolving data needs
- Support process documentation and continuity by adhering to standard procedures and best practices
Secondary Responsibilities may include:
- Assist with recurring operational workflows such as monthly valuation uploads and daily data confirmation checks
- Support process improvement efforts, automation initiatives, and workflow enhancements
- Participate in ad hoc projects, analyses, or operational initiatives in support of team and departmental objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field preferred
- Prior internship or entry-level experience in finance, accounting, data, or operations is a plus
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity
- Effective communicator, with strong written and verbal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and proactive in identifying and solving problems
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and a drive for continuous improvement
