Analyst, Risk - Ld/Sr

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:
· $100,800 - $126,600 (Boston, MA)
Position Overview:
Development and maintenance of risk books related to Avangrid’s renewable power businesses
Perform daily p&l and position reporting as well as analysis related to changes in book valuation and risk exposures, including the evaluation of risk book activity against established metrics
Monitor mark-to-market valuation changes and position sizes to ensure compliance with approved business unit and corporate trading limits
Understand and decompose complex positions into component parts in order to evaluate key risk factors within various portfolios
Identify risks not being processed by risk system and develop appropriate procedures to ensure proper trade capture, valuation and reporting
Review new trades on a daily basis and validate trade capture within risk management systems
Assist Risk Analysis team in computation of VaR, stress tests, and related metrics
Work very closely with traders and asset managers to ensure they understand how p&l and positions are valued and reported
Analysis and resolution of differences between economic results and accounting earnings
Lead process to model and load budget and forecast asset performance targets into energy trading and risk management system
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Required: 5+ years of related experience in energy industry
Skills / Abilities Required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: Power Query, Power Query M formula language, formulas, macros, pivot tables, ranges, tables
Experience working with VBA, Power Query M formula language, SQL, database tools (Toad, SQL Developer)
Ability to work independently, working through difficult reconciliation issues to their ultimate source/cause, and finding an appropriate solution
Ability to gather, consolidate, analyze and report data accurately and efficiently
Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving
Capacity to manage and coordinate multiple tasks, solve complex problems and work under pressure
Ability to work with other departments with different perspectives on reporting issues
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to interact with other parts of the business at all levels
Ability to work within a team environment
Skills / Abilities Desired
Familiarity/ prior experience with FIS Aligne, webTrader, Paragon
