Position Summary

Department Description

AlpInvest is a leading global private equity investor with over $72 billion of assets under management as per September 30, 2023. Approximately 75% of these funds are invested in private equity funds globally, including secondary transactions, with the remainder invested directly in companies as a co-investor (equity and mezzanine) in Europe, North America and non-traditional markets. Position Summary

This individual will support all functions for AlpInvest regulated product(s). This person will assist with day-to-day operations, financial reporting, and vendor management, among other responsibilities necessary to ensure smooth operations and reporting for regulated products on the AlpInvest Platform.

This person will report to the Controller of Regulated Investment Companies at AlpInvest. They will be collaborating across multiple teams within AlpInvest, but also with colleagues in Global Credit that focus on regulated and SICAV products.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Key job functions include:

  • Fund Operations:
    • Partner with front office teams and the TPA in the execution of activities including;
    • Ongoing portfolio management and valuation support
    • Capital activity
    • Expense processing/management
    • Investor reporting and requests
    • Working with internal/external tax teams to implement tax structures and complete year end compliance activities
    • Coordinate with back-office accounting groups and fund administrators to streamline internal reporting for NAV calculation
  • Regulated Investment Company Reporting
    • Assist in the financial reporting processes performed by TPA incorporating reconciliation of internal books and records
    • Interface with auditors in all quarterly review and audit coordination and completion as well as for the SOX assessment
    • Review the tie-out of financial statements and assist in implementation of new accounting requirements with auditors and TPA
    • Ensure fund financials reflect the latest accounting guidance and disclosure requirements
    • Manage Credit Facility reporting and compliance
    • Interact with internal committee on subject's pertaining to Valuation, financial statements, regulatory filings, Board Meetings and Earnings Prep/Call
  • Vendor Management:
    • Review vendor service agreements and fee letters
    • Coordinate loan reporting with the fund Sub-adviser
    • Interact with third-party vendors for various service functions including fund administration, custody, transfer agency, loans servicing and credit facilities
  • Strategic Finance:
    • Assist in a wide variety of projects as reasonably assigned including,
      • Treasury activities
      • Public financing
      • Stock repurchases

Qualifications

Requirements

Education & Certificates

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred

Professional Experience

  • 2-3 years related experience required
  • Big 4 accounting firm background a plus
  • Registered Investment Company experience preferred
  • Knowledge of closed-end and regulated investment funds and US GAAP/SEC reporting requirements

Benefits/Compensation

The compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $125,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
