The Position
The Procurement Analyst will play a vital role in driving Verve Therapeutics' success by optimizing purchasing processes and securing the best value for every transaction. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams to understand their needs, swiftly resolve any order-related issues, and implement cost-effective solutions that align with business objectives. By building strong, strategic relationships with suppliers, you’ll ensure smooth, efficient operations and contribute to the continuous refinement of procurement policies to support company growth. Job Responsibilities
- Streamline purchase requisition processes by meticulously reviewing details, validating pricing, issuing Purchase Orders, and proactively resolving any order-related issues, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, proactively aligning procurement strategies to meet both current and future business demands.
- Build and nurture strong supplier relationships, managing ongoing communications, and identifying creative opportunities to enhance efficiency and drive cost savings.
- Champion adherence to company policies, ensuring that all purchases stay within budget and fully comply with the company’s delegated authority policy, maintaining operational integrity.
- Support the rollout of new Punchout Catalogs and identify alternative sourcing options for critical materials, ensuring procurement flexibility and reliability.
- Contribute to system administration for procurement tools, managing user accounts, and providing training to enhance smooth system integration and optimize the team’s efficiency.
- Drive bi-weekly team meetings, shaping the agenda to ensure clear, actionable outcomes and advancing shared team goals.
- Support the Accounting and Accounts Payable teams with purchasing related adjustments, corrections, or other updates.
- Assist in negotiations for mid-sized purchases, driving cost-saving initiatives and actively contributing to the company’s broader savings goals, while ensuring optimal value in every transaction.

Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant procurement experience.
- Biotech industry experience preferred.
- Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical skills for reviewing requisitions, validating pricing, and ensuring compliance.
- Procurement experience in issuing Purchase Orders, resolving issues, and managing supplier relationships.
- Collaborative mindset to align procurement strategies with business needs across teams.
- Excellent communication skills to manage supplier interactions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure purchases stay within budget and company policies.
- Familiarity with procurement systems and the ability to manage user accounts and provide training.
- Experience in spend analysis and reporting to support data-driven decisions.
- Negotiation skills to contribute to mid-sized purchase agreements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Adaptable and proactive in improving processes, systems, and sourcing strategies.
- Team player with the ability to contribute to team goals and ensure alignment across functions.
