Walk Free is an international human rights group working to accelerate the end of all forms of modern slavery. Walk Free is the creator of the Global Slavery Index, the world's most comprehensive data set on modern slavery. We use this data to mobilise powerful forces for change against these human rights abuses. We work with governments and regulators, businesses and investors, and faith and community leaders to drive systems change and we partner directly with frontline organisations to impact the lives of those vulnerable to modern slavery. We work with survivors to build the movement to end modern slavery, recognising that lived experience is expertise and they are central to identifying lasting solutions.

Job Description

Walk Free is seeking a dynamic and analytical Analyst, Policy & Research to join our team in Perth, Australia. This exciting role offers an opportunity to contribute to our mission of eradicating modern slavery through cutting-edge research and impactful policy advocacy.

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on the scale, nature, and responses to modern slavery worldwide
  • Analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable insights for various stakeholders
  • Draft high-quality research reports and advocacy materials tailored to diverse audiences
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Monitor regional-specific research, media, and opportunities aligned with Walk Free's strategy
  • Contribute to policy recommendations targeting governments, private sector, investors, and faith leaders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions in the fight against modern slavery
  • Provide administrative support and manage external inquiries as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, international development, human rights, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in research, policy analysis, or human rights advocacy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern slavery issues and understanding of related human rights challenges
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality research and advocacy materials
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in international and cross-cultural contexts
  • Proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable
  • Data analysis skills are a plus
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Innovative thinking and the capacity to develop creative solutions to complex problems
