Position Overview:
As part of StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (“SPAR”) team, the Power BI user experience/user interface (“UX/UI”) Specialist will be responsible for the creation of visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for Power BI dashboards and quarterly reports, focusing on creating intuitive navigation, clear data visualization, and effective interactions to allow users to easily analyze and interpret complex information. The UX/UI Specialist will work closely with senior SPAR team members and all relevant departments to support the Reporting and Research Analytics teams, as well as the Client Reporting
Essential Job Functions:
- Design user-centered dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, focusing on enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and aesthetics
- Conduct user research to understand data needs and pain points, and structure layouts to prioritize key metrics for efficient data exploration
- Create engaging visualizations (charts, graphs, tables) to effectively communicate insights and design intuitive interactions for filtering and customizing views
- Develop wireframes and prototypes for testing and refining designs, while maintaining a consistent design system and documenting best practices
- Ensure alignment with brand guidelines and industry standards and collaborate with data engineers and client leads to meet business objectives
- Become a domain expert by deepening knowledge of analytical tools and proprietary systems, while continuously innovating to create novel solutions
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Digital Graphic Design or related field preferred
- Prior experience in UX/UI design preferred
- Record of accomplishment of projects demonstrating value-add initiatives
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with front-end development software and business intelligence tools such as Power BI
- Strong creative and technical skills
- Knowledge of web design preferred
- Extremely strong attention to detail
- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter, with demonstrated history of taking initiative, being adaptive in a fast-changing environment, and working independently
- Inquisitive and intellectually curious, able to independently learn recent technologies, skills, and industry standards
Salary - $72,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
