Analyst, Investment Engineering

Investment Engineering is part of the Investments Team within Dimensional. Investment Engineering is responsible for the ownership of investment data which involves, managing data from acquisition through distribution, driving analysis to create information from data, and creating the information and analysis consumed by internal and external clients and reports. Investment Engineering is a hub group that is involved throughout the implementation of the investment process resulting in the overlap with most other departments within Dimensional.

The APAC Investment Engineering team seeks an analyst capable of supporting key initiatives underpinning our daily implementation process. The work is team based across the globe and includes the responsibility for analysing the quality of investment data within Dimensional, including security reference, index, fund, and all other data crucial to the investment process and to downstream reports. Success in this role will mean delivering clean, accurate data to internal and external clients in a timely manner, being creative at finding different ways to analyse and present relevant investment data, and enhancing operational efficiencies at Dimensional to deliver value-added investment solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support Dimensional's daily operational processes around investments and ensure that tools and systems built follow appropriate business logic.
  • Compile and manage large data sets from multiple sources in support of investment team systems.
  • Create and distribute regular and ad hoc investment reports or analysis on investments, fund assets, returns, characteristics, and attributions.
  • Execute regular validations to ensure inputs to research, portfolio management, and client reporting are appropriate and accurate.
  • Interface with investment teams to answer internal and external client questions in respect to our investments and strategies.
  • Define requirements and develop new processes, in partnership with teams across the organisation.
  • Contribute to ongoing efficiency efforts through automation, process design, and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability (including internship/s) to think in an analytical and quantitative capacity.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions to technical and non-technical teams.
  • Passion for finding solutions to complex problems with strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy while maintaining a big picture focus.
  • Strong computer skills (in particular, Excel), with the ability to learn additional programs.
  • Demonstrated capacity for and interest in programming and quantitative work; coding experience will be viewed favourably (SQL, Python, VBA, etc.).

Skills Required
