 Growth Portfolio Operations 

This individual will manage various fund, accounting, fundraising, marketing, and internal operations with the objective of supporting the scaling, efficiency, and decision-making of the Growth team.  More specifically this individual will own certain processes related to the team’s operations, will act as the primary interface with other teams across the Firm, and will develop marketing materials, projects, and events to support the team’s deal sourcing, fundraising, and portfolio company growth.   


Responsibilities will fall into 3 categories and will include the following:

  • Portfolio Analysis/Reporting and Valuation Support – coordinate with portfolio companies and Adams Street’s Accounting team to provide support for recurring valuation process and ad hoc portfolio analysis/reporting
    • Work with portfolio companies to collect financials, cap tables, D&O insurance, etc., on a quarterly basis
    • Attend weekly Monday team meetings to stay up to date on the portfolio
    • Support monthly valuation process and other portfolio tracking initiatives
    • Ensure timely and accurate production of portfolio reporting for team meetings
    • Draft quarterly email update to firm
    • Create / work with other teams to create materials for team strategy sessions, quarterly performance meetings, firmwide meetings, and Adams Street board meetings as needed
  • Marketing Support – work Adams Street’s Investor Relations and Marketing teams to support fundraising efforts and brand marketing for the Growth team
    • Interface with Investor Relations & Marketing teams to produce a variety of LP marketing materials
    • Respond to RFP requests on behalf of Growth team
    • Own data room materials during fundraising process
    • Manage portfolio company database file and run analyses to support marketing materials and specific requests
    • Over time, will be expected to proactively generate, vet, and execute on ideas to improve our materials and create efficiency in the process of creating and maintaining standard materials
    • Produce quarterly “newsletter” and other one-off marketing pieces to support team’s brand and deal sourcing efforts
    • Assist with creation of content for website
    • Assist with idea generation and execution of any CEO or VC events (with direction from Growth team partners)
    • Build / maintain a list of content creation responsibilities to support our portfolio company value-added services efforts
  • Manage Deal Pipeline and Closing Process – track new and follow on investments through pipeline and coordinate closing process with Adams Street’s PE Operations team
    • Interface with Growth team to get frequent process updates on deal activity
    • Coordinate deal closing process (fund allocations, legal, wiring) with PE Operations team

 

Required Skills

The successful candidate will likely have 2-6 years of professional experience in either finance, accounting, or marketing roles. Additional qualifications include:

    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
    • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Comfort with uncertainty and necessity to figure out “the right path” independently; self-directed
    • Creativity and intellectual curiosity
    • Ability to build organizational process and automation once end goal/state is understood
    • Ability to learn and internalize the nuances of the Growth team strategy, how that compares to others in the market, and use that understanding to create relevant narratives for LPs, entrepreneurs, and early-stage VCs
    • Desire to grow in a unique role and take on significantly more responsibility and autonomy over time
