About this role
Team Overview
BlackRock SMA Solutions enables customized portfolio construction across Direct Indexing, Active Fixed Income, Active Equity, and Multi‑Asset strategies. The team partners closely with Sales, Portfolio Management, Product, and Technology to deliver scalable, controlled, and client‑focused SMA experiences.
This role sits at the intersection of SMA Operations and Technology Transformation. You will help modernize and scale operational workflows by partnering with Operations, Product, and Engineering to translate business needs into well‑defined requirements, process improvements, and technology solutions. Salesforce will be a primary platform in scope, but the role is intentionally broader: the team will leverage this resource across multiple transformation initiatives (systems, data, controls, reporting, and automation).
Salesforce Transformation – Key Responsibilities
- On behalf of SMA Operations, partner with Product Management, Technology, Business Development, and Portfolio Management teams, to understand business goals, pain points, and end‑to‑end workflows, and translate them into clear requirements and delivery plans.
- Drive process and technology analysis to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and legacy constructs that must be simplified, redesigned, or scaled for new products, higher volumes, and evolving client needs.
- Support cross‑platform solutioning across the SMA operating ecosystem (e.g., Salesforce and adjacent tools/systems), including workflow design, data model considerations, controls, and reporting.
- Develop business cases, problem statements, and “current state vs. target state” documentation; coordinate stakeholder alignment and define success metrics for initiatives.
- Support the design and implementation of Salesforce enhancements, including objects, validation rules, permissions, automation, reporting, and dashboards aligned to Active SMA workflows.
- Act as a business-facing Salesforce SME, providing guidance on how system changes impact onboarding, servicing, governance, and controls.
- Assist with testing, validation, and rollout activities, ensuring changes are productionready and do not introduce operational or compliance risk.
- Contribute to documentation, training materials, and internal enablement to support adoption across global SMA Operations teams.
- Balance daytoday operational support with participation in longerterm transformation initiatives.
- Liaise with senior stakeholders and leadership in weekly and monthly forums to provide updates on progress, risks, and dependencies.
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of experience in operations transformation, business analysis, or platform support, preferably within financial services or wealth management.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce data models, permissions, workflows, automation, and reporting, with the ability to reason through complex business use cases.
- Experience supporting or partnering with operations and client onboarding teams, with an understanding of how systems enable front to back workflows.
- Ability to translate business requirements into system logic, and to explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with investment products or SMA workflows is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with system integrations and cross‑platform dependencies.
- Knowledge of Aladdin, Salesforce, or adjacent operational systems is preferred.
- Technical skills in Python, SQL, JavaScript, or VBA are a plus, particularly for analysis, reporting, or automation use cases.
- Selfmotivated, detailoriented, and comfortable operating in a fastpaced, evolving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging across geographies and seniority levels.
