The group’s Follow the Sun Model ensures that the firm’s operations are consistent and efficient across all investment products, client channels and regions, helping to deliver superior client experience and drive scalability. Technology & Operations is driven by a global network of Operating Centers of Excellence, which centralizes knowledge and equips support teams with the data and timely information needed to innovate and deliver on behalf of internal partners and clients.
BlackRock’s Technology & Enterprise Service Group aims to provide BlackRock Employees with robust technology infrastructure and strategic workplace solutions to deliver consistent employee experience around the world, while handling information security and data integrity. Teams aligned to support the firm’s functions.
As an Application Engineering Analyst, you will:
- Designing, coding, testing, and supporting reliable, robust software applications and services with high-quality standards.
- Participating actively in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation.
- Collaborating with product management on the right units of work to include in each development sprint.
- Performing code reviews and providing timely feedback to other engineers.
- Apply quality software engineering practices through all phases of development and into production.
- Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit, regression and user acceptance testing, dev ops and level two production support
What You'll Need:
- Proficient in backend development with knowledge of frontend technologies.
- Experience with a JVM based language preferably Java
- Understanding typical Java-based frameworks such as Spring boot, hibernate, J2EE, etc.
- Experience with scripting languages like Shell, Python.
- Experience with PL/SQL, experience on RDBMS like Sybase/Oracle etc.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Some experience (could academic) with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
- Some experience with software containerization platforms like Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience in developing microservice architecture and/or writing APIs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presents ideas in a clear, concise, and constructive manner to a diverse audience
- Proficiency building and passionate about creating great products that solve big problems
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and time management abilities
- Strong analytical skills and passion to understand existing systems

Our hybrid work model
