Analog Design Engineer

The Data Center & Energy BU is seeking an Analog Integrated Circuit Design Engineer to work on developing switching power supply ICs for datacenter and communication markets, leading innovation from concept to implementation.

The Data Center & Energy BU mission is to define, design and manufacture leading edge monolithic Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) products in BCD technology, such as:

  • Integrated power stages up to 100A delivered current for multiphase SMPS for server and AI.
  • 16V to sub-1V step down PoL with integrated Power Stage and PMBus for server, network and communication.

This Analog Design Engineer role will come with the following responsibilities: 

 
Responsibilities

  • Work within an analog/mixed-signal design team based in Catania (Italy) or Milan (Italy), and other locations worldwide.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with other cross-functional teams to define, implement and introduce products to our customers. Teams include business, applications, product definition, product engineering, layout, test engineering, project management, CAD/EDA, etc.
  • Mixed-mode IC top-level/block design, transistor-level circuit design and simulation.  
  • Use recommended design and verification techniques, tools & flows to produce efficient designs which meet specifications.
  • Successful integration of blocks into larger mixed-signal systems.
  • Support other development team functions, such as layout, application, and test, to ensure successful delivery and meeting all requirements.
  • Perform hands-on evaluation of ICs in the lab.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in electronic engineering.
  • Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design.
  • Design familiarity with circuits such as amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs, and switching power supply circuits.
  • Good understanding of power supply control architectures.
  • Knowledge of BCD process technologies.
  • Understand physical phenomena such as latch-up, HCI degradation, and other reliability issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills are required.
  • Travel to support product definition should be expected.
  • Good level of understanding of the English language, both written and spoken.
