About Us

At Félix, we are building the indispensable financial companion for Latinos in the US. We combine an AI-powered, conversational-first interface with real-time financial infrastructure to make cross-border money movement as easy as sending a text. Starting with fast, affordable remittances powered by AI and crypto rails, we are expanding into credit, savings, and wallet services to support the complete immigrant financial journey. Our ambition is to deliver a white-glove financial experience with the simplicity of a conversation to a community the traditional financial system has historically overlooked.

We are a hyper-growth Series C company, backed by over $300 million in funding from top-tier global investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, QED, Castle Island, Switch Ventures, HTwenty, Monashees, General Catalyst Customer Value Fund. This isn't just about the numbers; it's a testament to the trust our investors have in our vision and our team. Additionally, Félix was selected as an “Endeavor Entrepreneur” and was a recipient of the CrossTech Fintech Startups Award.

Joining Félix means you will be part of a team building a legacy, a company that will outlive us all. This is a rare opportunity to apply your skills to a deeply meaningful mission - serving a community that has been underserved for too long because we are obsessed with our customers. We get things done with urgency and focus, driven by extreme ownership over our impact. We collaborate without ego, fostering radical transparency and fierce loyalty so we can grow together. Because we aim for insanely great rather than just good enough, we stay insatiably curious - always experimenting, building the future today, and delivering a product that truly makes our users' lives better.

About the Role

At Félix, we’re building the next generation of financial services for immigrant communities. As an AML Investigations Specialist, you’ll help protect our platform from money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, and other forms of financial crime while enabling millions of legitimate users to move money quickly and safely.

Investigations are the core of this role. You’ll work in a fast-paced fintech environment where products, risks, and typologies evolve quickly, so spotting what’s changing in your cases and flagging it early is key. You’ll use AI to make your investigations faster and more accurate, and your feedback will help us improve detection over time.
Over time, you’ll take ownership of FinCrime procedures and documentation and help coordinate how FinCrime works with Fraud and Compliance Operations.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, questioning assumptions, working with data, and using technology - including AI - to become a better investigator.

Responsibilities

  • Review and disposition transaction monitoring and screening alerts within SLA.
  • Conduct end-to-end AML, sanctions, fraud, and financial crime investigations across customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, and post-transaction reviews.
  • Analyze customer activity, transactional behavior, device intelligence, payment flows (including blockchain, where applicable), and external intelligence to identify suspicious activity.
  • Escalate potentially suspicious activity and prepare clear, well-supported investigative summaries and SAR recommendations.
  • Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and adverse media research on higher-risk customers and transactions.
  • Identify and escalate emerging money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion, mule account, and synthetic identity patterns relevant to fintech and cross-border payments.
  • Provide feedback to Product, Data, and Risk teams on rule performance and false positives.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to improve investigation quality, research, documentation, and productivity while maintaining sound investigative judgment.
  • Draft and maintain investigation procedures, SOPs, memos, and knowledge articles.
  • Support the joint operating model between FinCrime, Fraud, and Compliance Operations, including documenting handoffs and escalation paths.
  • Participate in regulatory examinations, audits, internal QA reviews, and periodic training activities, as required.
  • Contribute to building an increasingly automated, intelligence-driven Financial Crimes function.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in AML investigations, transaction monitoring, fraud investigations, sanctions compliance, or financial crime operations.
  • Experience within a fintech, payments company, digital bank, crypto platform, or other fast-paced financial institution strongly preferred.

These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAMS or an equivalent financial crime certification.
  • Experience investigating cross-border payments, remittances, fintech, digital wallets, cryptocurrency, or embedded finance products.
