About this role
With the introduction of AML Tranche 2 regulations, Grant Thornton is looking for a motivated Internal Auditor specialising in AML compliance to work with our National Quality and Excellence Team. You will report to the Head of Risk Management who will be responsible for, implementing the requirements under AML Tranche 2 for designated services provided by Grant Thornton to clients. You will have AML experience and a working knowledge of Tranche 2 and its applicability to professional services. Your AML experience will include auditing risk management processes, risk assessing clients and services, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), sanctions and transaction monitoring and reporting.
Key responsibilities
You will have acquired your AML skills in industry or professional services. Ideally you will be a well-rounded Risk professional with enterprise risk skills so you can support the Risk function in other Risk initiatives. You should share our passion for excellence and value a positive work culture.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Conducting internal audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews for AML, including gap analysis and review of designated services across the business
- Sharing regulatory insights to ensure we are at the forefront of developments in AML regulations, regulatory activities and compliance approaches
- Identifying and liaising with third parties to implement best practice CDD processes under AML requirements
- Working closely with the central client acceptance team to develop appropriate CDDprocedures for clients
- Designing and executing detailed AML compliance testing procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and adherence to regulatory requirements
- Developing and delivering AML training programs for all stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and meet regulatory obligations
- Preparing audit and compliance reports and recommendations, and establish governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms for Executives, the Board and Regulators
Skills & experience
Ideally you will have worked in professional services or within financial services and have a strong understanding of AML regulations and their application.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years of internal audit, AML or risk experience, managing the delivery of AML and risk engagements in a professional services environment or being part of an AML team within a financial services organisation.
- Tertiary level qualification or equivalent. Anti-money laundering certification would be highly regarded. Knowledge of AFSL License obligations desirable.
- Have a collaborative and consultative approach to working with diverse stakeholders with a proven ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Effective communicator (both written and verbal), with proven ability to communicate complex issues and solutions to a broad range of stakeholders.
- An ability to build successful relationships with a positive attitude to challenges and the agility to multitask effectively across competing priorities.
- Organised, efficient, and have a high attention to detail to deliver meaningful outcomes within specified timelines.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset, be curious and keen to learn from others.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
