The Americas Network Engineer – Real Estate plays a critical role in designing, deploying, and supporting network infrastructure solutions across DT Real Estate projects. This role partners with Global Real Estate teams, local facilities groups, and DT Project Managers to deliver robust and standardized network environments across greenfield, brownfield, and transformation initiatives.
The position drives network infrastructure design, bill of materials preparation, and deployment execution while ensuring adherence to Baker Hughes standards. It also contributes to lifecycle management activities including upgrades, enhancements, and documentation, supporting the successful delivery of enterprise network capabilities.
As an Americas Network Engineer – Real Estate, you will be responsible for:
Designing and deploying DT Real Estate network solutions in collaboration with Global Real Estate teams, Local Facilities, and DT Project Managers.
Supporting technical design activities for network infrastructure across:
New facility builds (Greenfield)
Expansion of existing facilities (Brownfield)
Relocations, co-locations, integrations, and separations
Delivering end-to-end network infrastructure solutions, including:
Local Area Networks (LAN)
Wireless LAN (WLAN)
Wide Area Networks (WAN) and SD-WAN
Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points
Preparing detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) aligned with site layouts, engineering designs, and Baker Hughes infrastructure standards.
Ensuring compliance with Baker Hughes network standards for consistent, scalable, and secure implementations.
Executing network enhancements and infrastructure upgrades aligned with approved DT Real Estate projects.
Maintaining accurate and complete project documentation to support delivery, audit, and turnover-to-operations (TTO) activities.
Assisting with site surveys, installations, configuration management, and lifecycle maintenance of enterprise network environments.
Supporting modernization and sustainment initiatives within a global enterprise network.
Contributing to evolving DT Real Estate program deliverables as the program matures.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Have a minimum of 4 years (48 months) of experience in network and infrastructure implementation within Real Estate or facility-based projects.
Have strong expertise in networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP, and VTP.
Have proven experience in network design and implementation, including resilient architectures and SD-WAN technologies.
Have hands-on experience with leading networking technologies, including Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto solutions.
Have a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and network protection strategies.
Have experience in physical and logical network design based on site layouts, MEP diagrams, and infrastructure constraints across office, workshop, and manufacturing environments.
Have experience across the full lifecycle of Real Estate projects, including planning, deployment, and post-implementation support (preferred).
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
Be an effective communicator, capable of translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating across global teams.
Be highly organized and able to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Have automation and scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Ruby, or Perl) to optimize operational efficiency.
Hold relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent (advanced certifications such as CCIE are advantageous).
