The Role:


The Senior Specialist: Alumni Relations plays a key role in growing and strengthening the firm's global alumni community.


Working closely with the Assistant Director: Global Alumni Relations, the role is responsible for delivering alumni engagement initiatives, communications, events, relationship management activities, and database administration that support the firm's strategic objectives.


The successful candidate will help create meaningful connections between the firm and its alumni, while supporting the development of a vibrant global network that generates value through recruitment, business development, brand advocacy, knowledge sharing, and professional connections.


Hours:


Standard hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm with flexibility in accordance with the needs of the business.     

Our current working from home policy allows for two days working from home, subject to business need. This policy is subject to change and does not form part of contractual terms.

Responsibilities

Alumni Relations

  • Support the execution of the firm's global alumni strategy and annual engagement plan.
  • Manage day-to-day communications and interactions with alumni.
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumni across key geographies, practices, industries, and career stages.
  • Assist in identifying and engaging high-priority alumni for strategic initiatives, publications, events, and networking opportunities.
  • Respond to alumni enquiries and act as a key point of contact for members of the Alumni Network.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the overall alumni experience and increase alumni participation and community engagement.

Alumni Communications

  • Develop and coordinate alumni communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, website content, social media content, and promotional materials.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to source relevant news, updates, and opportunities for alumni audiences.
  • Ensure communications are targeted, relevant, and aligned with engagement objectives. Segmented communications and engagement journeys are a core objective of the alumni program.
  • Monitor communications and social media performance, analyse engagement data, and recommend improvements.

Event Management

  • Plan, coordinate and execute virtual and in-person alumni events globally, including reunions, networking receptions, webinars, panel discussions, and educational programs.
  • Manage event logistics, speaker coordination, invitations, registrations, communications, and post-event follow-up.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to promote firm-wide events to alumni where appropriate.
  • Track attendance, engagement metrics, and participant feedback.

Alumni Benefits and Programs

  • Promote and administer alumni benefits, including networking opportunities, educational resources, mentoring initiatives, referrals, job board activities, and professional development offerings.
  • Support initiatives that facilitate alumni-to-alumni and alumni-to-firm connections.

Administration and Database Management

  • Maintain accurate alumni data within the firm's CRM and alumni platform.
  • Support data cleansing, segmentation, profiling, reporting, and analysis activities.
  • Manage alumni onboarding and invitation processes.
  • Maintain the Alumni Job Board.

Internal Collaboration

  • Support alumni-related research, introductions, referrals, and business development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to extend appropriate firm-wide events, thought leadership programs, and client-facing initiatives to alumni audiences.

Reporting

  • Produce reports and lists as required by the Assistant Director: Global Alumni Relations and stakeholders across the firm.
  • Monitor external alumni relations approaches and share relevant insights that could inform future improvements to the alumni program.
  • Monitor alumni engagement and participation trends.
  • Produce reports and insights to support strategic decision-making and demonstrate program impact.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Grade B or above at GCSE level for English Language.

Experience, skills and personal attributes:


  • 3+ years' experience in alumni relations, professional membership organizations, business development, marketing, events, communications, or relationship management.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications. Experience of using InterAction or PeoplePath would be desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Experience managing events and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, collaborative, and customer-focused approach.
