Cybermedia Technologies (CTEC) www.ctec-corp.com is a CMMI Level III company that has provided technology and management solutions to commercial and government clients across the USA for over 20 years. We are currently seeking a highly skilled ALC Developer to support and modernize legacy mainframe systems within a federal environment.
Overview:
This position plays a critical role in maintaining assembler-based applications that underpin essential government operations. The ideal candidate is experienced with IBM Assembler Language Code (ALC), thrives in a Z/OS environment, and is eager to contribute to system modernization initiatives.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain IBM Assembler Language Code (ALC) programs on Z/OS mainframes
- Conduct trial runs, debug programs, and ensure efficient performance
- Modify existing assembler code to meet new technical or business requirements
- Work closely with systems analysts and other IT staff to define and resolve issues
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for program logic, workflows, and updates
- Interface with front-end systems and support modernization efforts (e.g., migration to Java or MongoDB)
- Ensure compliance with federal standards, data protection laws, and agency-specific security protocols
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree)
- 4–8 years of experience working with ALC in a mainframe environment
- Proficient in IBM Job Control Language (JCL), TSO, ISPF, and common debugging tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Clearance:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and meet federal tax compliance requirements to qualify for MBI clearance.
