Aladdin Business, Aladdin Client Engagement, Post-Trade Value Delivery, Associate

BlackRock Solutions (BRS) supports the investment process through the development, deployment and support of our enterprise investment management platform (Aladdin®), which is utilized by executives, portfolio management, risk management and operations teams. BRS provides strategic advisory and enterprise investment system services for our clients with portfolios totalling over $13 trillion. Our diverse client base is made up of external institutional asset managers, pensions, insurance companies, banks and governments around the world. The BRS business is the natural evolution of our long-standing investment in developing sophisticated and highly integrated analytics and systems for managing money.

Aladdin Client Engagement is part of the Aladdin Business within BlackRock Solutions and is responsible for maximizing the Aladdin product through engagement and education and work closely with Aladdin clients to be their trusted consultant, problem solver and business partner – to take full advantage of Aladdin. This is a client facing role and the associate will be expected to build deep partnerships with the clients to build highly effective relationships to understand and solve problems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own relationships with key client stakeholders to understand their business objectives and needs and help them use Aladdin expertise to achieve their firm’s goals.
  • Understand the client’s business challenges and propose solutions leveraging Aladdin that drive value and adoption.
  • Engage with clients to define key strategic and tactical initiatives, leveraging your internal network to oversee and execute cross-functional project solutions. 
  • Assist clients in leveraging Aladdin to its fullest across the entire trade and portfolio lifecycle
  • Build strong internal relationships within BlackRock Aladdin, and the wider BlackRock, in support of your clients
  • Ensure client feedback on product is communicated to the Product Managers and is tracked through successful development and deployment.
  • Keep updated on regulatory and operational industry trends to help your clients stay ahead of changing times
  • Serve as a subject matter knowledge lead on multiple Aladdin workflows and processes
  • Drive engagement campaigns with end users and go-to market strategies to increase Aladdin penetration and commercial outcomes within assigned client segments
  • Help Client Engagement leads with harvesting and onboarding additional client business by coordinating across product and sales teams
  • The role demands technical proficiency and a robust comprehension of our Aladdin technology applications.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in financial services or consulting
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Economics, Accounting, Finance is preferred
  • Strong interest in FinTech and the Asset Management sector
  • Familiarity with buy-side investment management, middle-office (investment operations & data) workflows is preferred
  • Working understanding of equity, fixed income and derivative markets and their operational workflows. Knowledge of alternative investments and their lifecycle is a plus
  • A consultative approach to understanding client needs and a passion for solving problems, combined with a commercial mindset and drive for revenue generating opportunities
  • Outstanding communication and the ability to present complex concepts simply and clearly to varying audiences
  • Must have past demonstration of strong project management and leadership skills, and the ability to deliver large complex projects
  • A self-starter mindset and drive to succeed in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, working as part of a multi-disciplinary global team
  • Emotional ownership, pride in what you do and a strong team ethos

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with SQL, UNIX, VBA , C++, PERL, Python, AI, BI Tools (Tableau, PowerBI) or similar tools, and/or Aladdin.
  • Understanding of data interfacing, e.g., APIs, SFTPs
  • English proficiency is required. Proficiency in one or more of the following languages is preferred: Italian, Spanish, or French.
