Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an AIT Engineer. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless assembly, integration, and testing of the spacecraft at both systems and subsystem levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AIT processes, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete electrical board modifications and verifications

  • Perform data analysis after satellite testing

  • Conduct root cause analysis on failures and present to key stakeholders

  • Complete mechanical subsystem assemblies and integration

  • Perform system level verifications during the satellite build process

  • Attend launch campaigns and battery charging for upcoming satellite launches

  • Complete and lead pre-launch testing activities such as environmental testing

  • Ensure testing and procedure records for the satellite build process are correct

  • Develop training documentation for new team members

  • Assist with training new AIT members as needed

  • Occasional domestic and/or international travel required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Software or Electrical Engineering) equivalent or
    higher, plus relevant experience

  • 1+ years of work experience in a closely related technical field

  • Knowledge of C/C++ and/or Python

  • Experience with technical writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace industry experience, biomed, automotive, robotics, or another STEM field

  • Proven program management skills in a production environment

  • Experience with automating electronic test equipment

  • Jira, MES or other manufacturing software skills

  • Knowledge of IPC or other aerospace standards

Pay Range and Compensation Package

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $80k - $100k depending on experience

Physical Requirements

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and frequent walking. Daily use of a computer, phone, office equipment and other computing and digital devices is required. May be required to stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel may be necessary, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license and/or effectively navigate public transportation is required. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must be able to read and respond to interoffice communications as well as effectively participate in meetings. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to lift up to 50 lbs., pull, push, carry, handle or feel. The employee is required to carry, handle items, reach with arms and hands, to stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. Mental demands may require prolonged concentration, reading comprehension, understanding and interpretation of concepts, ideas and philosophies. The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
