Boeing Commercial Airplane has an exciting opportunity for a First Level Manager to join the Airline Support Engineering Team. This position is located in Seal Beach, CA. Airline Support Engineering (ASE) organization represents the voice of Boeing Commercial Airplanes customers. Our mission is to be the customer advocate and recognized leader in resolving complex customer issues. Position Responsibilities:
- Fosters an environment centered on Boeing Values and Behaviors.
- Leads and develops employees performing activities for Airline Support Engineering.
- Establishes technical and operational strategy and priorities aligned to organizational budget, objectives, and goals.
- Supports execution of Engineering activities to ensure first time quality and on-time performance.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Works extensively with Boeing and Customer executives in Engineering and Maintenance organizations.
- Partners closely with other Boeing organizations such as Service Engineering, Flight Operations, Technical Publications, Maintenance Engineering, Service Bulletins, Spares, Sales & Marketing, and Supplier Management.
- Acquires resources for department activities and drives continuous improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site in Seal Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership".
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Master's degree in engineering discipline or Master's degree in management
- Experience in customer support, dealing with and solving airline operator technical questions and issues
- Experience managing executive level relationships
- Experience in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills; ability to distill complex issues for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong program management skills: budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, risk management, trade studies, and escalation management
