The Role
We're looking for a curious and detail-oriented Prompt Engineer Intern to join our engineering team during the semester. In this role, you'll help design, test, and optimize prompts for our backend AI agent that powers automated financial services and decision-making systems within the Grid platform. You'll create prompts that enable reliable, accurate automated financial operations.This is a hands-on technical role where you'll blend deep understanding of large language model behavior with systematic engineering practices to build prompts that deliver consistent, high-quality outputs for backend financial processing and web scraping. We prefer candidates who can start immediately.

What you'll do:
- Design and optimize prompts for our backend AI agent that powers automated financial processing and decision-making systems
- Conduct rigorous experiments to evaluate prompt performance, measuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability metrics across different data inputs
- Collaborate with engineering and ML teams to implement prompt strategies within production backend systems and APIs
- Develop comprehensive testing frameworks and maintain versioned prompt libraries with detailed performance documentation
- Research advanced prompt engineering techniques and conduct statistical analysis on system outputs to optimize model behavior
What we're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science
- Hands-on experience with large language models (GPT, Claude, etc.)
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills with attention to precision and systematic testing methodologies
- Detail-oriented approach to documentation, performance measurement, and systematic experimentation in a fast-paced startup environment
- Ability to work out of our Seattle office
