We are looking for an AI Platform Engineer (m/f/d), to build and operate shared AI infrastructure and developer platforms that enable AI for every engineer in the organization. You will build platforms, services, and integrations that scale across teams, integrate deeply with our existing CI/CD and DevOps toolchain, and significantly improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
This role is intended for senior engineers with experience building and owning shared platforms used across multiple teams. The platform you build will be used by hundreds of engineers across the organization.
What you will do as an AI Platform Engineer (m/f/d):
- Design and ship LLM‑powered services, including conversational flows, agentic behaviors, and RAG‑based applications
- Build and operate infrastructure for LLM access, orchestration, evaluation, and AI telemetry
- Own the design and implementation of RAG pipelines and knowledge bases, from data ingestion to production‑grade AI applications
- Develop internal Model Context Protocol (MCP) infrastructure, including authentication, routing, observability, and security
- Design and develop end‑to‑end, scalable AI systems to improve internal efficiency
- Independently identify, evaluate, and rapidly prototype AI use cases and projects, from concept to proof of value
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Germany, the US, China, and Japan
- Strong programming skills with solid experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or equivalent experience
- Proven production experience implementing AI solutions using at least one major open‑source framework (e.g., LangChain, PyTorch)
- Hands‑on experience with public cloud providers (AWS or Azure) and building cloud‑based infrastructure
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining distributed systems and shared services
- Ability to take full ownership of complex systems in a low‑guidance, high‑impact environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing high-performance GPU clusters
- Experience working in scaled agile or large engineering organizations
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g. automotive, medical, aerospace)
- Experience in semiconductor testing and / or the semiconductor industry in general
- German and/or Japanese and/or Chinese language skills
Skills Required
- Strong programming skills with solid experience in Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Proven production experience implementing AI solutions using open-source frameworks
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining distributed systems
