AI-Native Full Stack Engineer

Our client, Yia, is looking for an AI-native full stack software engineer to join the team as a part-time contractor at the ground level with the potential to grow into a full time engineer position.

Yia is on a mission to help small business owners everywhere leverage the latest AI technology to grow their business and deliver better services to their customers.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven startup at a pivotal, foundational moment.

You’ll be a core builder, helping take the product from 0→1. This is a greenfield environment where you’ll shape not just what we build, but how we build it using AI.

Working closely with the founder and CTO, you will:

• Design and build full-stack systems from scratch, owning features end-to-end from idea to production
• Operate as an AI-native engineer, using tools like Copilot, Gemini, Cursor, Claude and agent-based workflows as a core part of development, focusing more on architecture, logic, and outcomes
• Rethink traditional development workflows using AI, including debugging, testing, documentation, and code generation
• Rapidly prototype and ship features, turning ambiguous ideas into working product in hours or days
• Design and implement core product systems, including APIs, authentication, onboarding, and payment flows with a focus on simplicity for small business users
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new AI capabilities, identifying where agents, automation, or LLM-powered features can create leverage in both the product and internal workflows
• Establish modern engineering practices from day one, optimized for speed, iteration, and maintainability in an AI-augmented development environment
• Collaborate in a high-ownership, low-structure startup environment, where you’re expected to take initiative, challenge assumptions, and move fast without waiting for perfect specs

Core Tech Stack

• Expert level in at least one programming language.
• Node.js (specifically for OpenClaw gateway management).
• LangGraph (Mandatory for stateful orchestration) or CrewAI.
• PostgreSQL with pgvector or Supabase (for cross-channel identity resolution).
• Docker (for sandboxing agents) and GitHub Actions.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured prompts, workflows, or tasks that AI tools can effectively execute

AI Integration (Workflow Essentials)

• Agentic Orchestration: Experience building multi-agent loops that include 'self-correction' and 'tool-calling.'
• Model Context Protocol (MCP): Experience using MCP to connect LLMs to local data and third-party APIs securely.
• Ability to debug, test, and validate complex systems, ensuring reliability and clean integrations across services. Proficiency in LangSmith or Arize Phoenix for debugging agent 'thought' patterns.
• API Mastery: Deep experience with Anthropic (Claude 3.5 Sonnet) and Tavily AI.
• Experience working in AI-augmented development environments, using tools like Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar to significantly accelerate development
• Strong judgment when working with AI-generated code — able to review, validate, refactor, and ensure production-quality outputs
