The Opportunity:

As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support the usage of artificial intelligence in the government healthcare space. As a machine learning engineer on ou Health and Life Sciences team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.   

In this role, you’ll lead the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and introducing leading-edge technologies. You’ll share your knowledge with a large community of machine learning engineers across the company and collaborate with data scientists, AI solution architects, and cloud engineers to deliver world-class solutions to deploy and scale AI and ML solutions. Your skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of AI and ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience designing and implementing complex enterprise systems

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, solutions architecture, software or cloud engineering, ML engineering, or data management

  • Experience as a solution or enterprise architect emphasizing data and analytics for enterprise infrastructure in a matrixed organization with legacy systems

  • Experience with engineering, including writing code or implementing systems

  • Experience with data governance, integration patterns, and platform scalability in large enterprises

  • Experience with AI and ML or data transformation pipelines or cross-platform integration using AWS, Azure, Databricks, or open-source cloud tools

  • Ability to reason through architectural trade-offs and technical limitations

  • Ability to translate technical concepts for senior stakeholders, build alignment across teams, and create and communicate technical solutions for clients in verbal and written formats

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience consolidating or rationalizing redundant tools or platforms

  • Experience building and deploying generative or agentic AI systems into production

  • Experience in high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives involving business transformation or digital modernization

  • Experience with AI and ML platform orchestration or intelligent automation at scale

  • Experience developing machine learning algorithms

  • Experience gathering requirements and leading Agile teams

  • Knowledge of modern software design patterns, including microservices, event-driven and architecture

  • Ability to act as a bridge between strategy and implementation without day-to-day oversight

  • Bachelor’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $128,700.00 to $292,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
