What you’ll do here:

• Partner with data scientists to embed machine learning and advanced statistics into software applications that solve real-world customer and business problems
• Navigate differing opinions, ambiguity, and competing requirements to build and advocate for designs with clear objectives and trade-offs
• Explore emerging technologies to enhance developer experience and improve engineering processes
• Grow alongside a diverse team of world-class experts in data science, software engineering, actuarial science, business, and design
• Create, test, and deploy well-designed, efficient code
• Collaborate with our teams in Hong Kong and Canada to share knowledge, insights, results, and tools

Here's what you bring to the table:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, AI, or a related discipline
• Proficiency in Python or another programming language
• Internship or full-time experience in software development — we welcome early-career through senior candidates
• Knowledge of software engineering practices such as design patterns, the development lifecycle, and tools like Git, Jira, and Confluence
• A commitment to being a great, collaborative teammate
• Unlimited curiosity and a passion for challenging the status quo
• Ability to tackle vaguely defined problems with a creative approach
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
• If you don't have AI experience, a strong motivation to learn this new and exciting field

Some nice-to-haves:

• Frontend experience with React, TypeScript, async handling, and state management tools
• Experience with machine learning and scientific computing libraries such as scikit-learn, NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow, etc.
• Knowledge of modern DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ELK
• Familiarity with development technologies such as MongoDB and Kafka
• Experience developing data and machine learning pipelines
